• Conversion from Windows To Linux..

Is there an easy way to convert a Windows Synchro to Linux (Debian) system? I tried the migration set up by copying the CTRL DATA NODE1 and MODS and XTRN directories, but had some issues with errors popping up.. I started from scratch and got just about everything copied re-configured and have all the messages, files, users etc copied but now the BBS stats are not showing (total calls, etc.) Any simple ways??

system? I tried the migration set up by copying the CTRL DATA NODE1
and MODS and XTRN directories, but had some issues with errors popping
    up..

    What errors?

Not necessarily errors, but binding issues, I watched your video and start it with sudo and it switches over to the sbbs user automatically like it is supposed to, but when I copied those directories over the previous directories it wouldn't switch anymore. Now that I think about it, I am thinking it might have been priveledge issues.. I have a backup of it I might try that again..

You can resolve port binding issues on *nix, a number of ways: https://wiki.synchro.net/howto:linux_non-root

This is not really relavent to the migration of your configuration or data from a Windows install however.

The stats are stored in ctrl/csts.* and ctrl/dsts.*, make sure you copied those files over. If you care about the node statistics, you'll need to copy those same files from the node directories.
copy those same files from the node directories.

Cool, I will do that, I think that is the only thing holding it back now. Appreciate the help.

    Sure.
