The US Supreme Court has ruled, definitively losing a major lawsuit.
The question now is how the settlement will be handled. Should the tariffs be reversed, or simply abolished and no compensation provided
to anyone who was harmed? Time will tell. Several companies have
already filed lawsuits to reclaim the import tariffs they paid. The easiest option is to simply abolish the tariffs and let things go. The judges will also consider this.
It would be costly and a hot mess to do refunds. Other problem is companies such as FEDEX should
not get the refunds directly, it should be each individual customer who paid the tarrifs.
I support just end the tarrifs and let things be. Maybe we should use the tarriff money to pay
for the extended ACA subsidies for the next three years. But its ironic when progressives don't
like that solution.
