• Trump's Import Tariffs Are Illegal

The US Supreme Court has ruled, definitively losing a major lawsuit.

The question now is how the settlement will be handled. Should the tariffs be reversed, or simply abolished and no compensation provided to anyone who was harmed? Time will tell. Several companies have already filed lawsuits to reclaim the import tariffs they paid. The easiest option is to simply abolish the tariffs and let things go. The judges will also consider this.

Incidentally, only six of the nine judges ruled that the tariffs were illegal. Trump believed that some of the six judges were disloyal to him... After all, they were appointed by him, and in Trump's view, they should do what he wants them to do. Three judges are doing so properly, while three others occasionally obstruct.

Trump has already indicated that he will implement a 15% tariff for everyone, but this time based on a different law. So the whole party is about to start all over again, because Trump can't stand the word "no."

In a normal situation, members of Congress and the Senate would reprimand the president, but the Republicans are groveling to Trump, and the chance of that happening is therefore slim. Trump is violating democracy, but the Republican Senate and Congress are actively complicit in that violating democracy.
