    Imagine a nation with 4.2% of the world's population consuming 25% of all that is produced globally.

    That means that by Monday, they consume what they produce of their own, and the remaining six days of the week, they take from what every other nation in the world produces.

    Then imagine that this leech of a nation suddenly says it's entitled to an even bigger share.

    What would you say as a response to such a nation?

    Imagine a nation with .01% of the population thinking that they know
    whats best for the world. Imagine again that this righteous nation pays
    52% taxes and trusts the government to take care of them.

    I'm not sure I could put my words down in a response to such a nation.

    It's exactly what your subspecies did. Humans have speculated that it was an effort to bloat the population/install more congress members.

    But now you've got my gears turning a different way; maybe it was just for the opportunity to say "Look, there's not enough resources for everyone!"
