• No construction projects on the US east coast?

We must appreciate the word "discretionary" because I've been all over
the east coast this summer and I didn't run into any construction projects.

That must be totally unique. I've never heard of any other person who never experiences any roadwork when being "all over" somewhere an entire summer.

According to this official traffic information site:

    https://511ny.org/

... there are around one thousand construction sites on the roads in NY state alone and several more thousands "all over the East Coast". If you didn't see a single one, you should take off your orange blinders.

This shows that there's a pole down in one town, right shoulder closed in another town, an accident with property damage in another town, but no mention of any road construction.

The highways are in pretty good shape around NY state. You're product just isn't selling.

Roadwork involves regular maintenance. Paving is not something that we pat our Transportation Secretary on the back for; if anything, we thank our taxpayers for it.

Didn't you bother to check the site out properly? It has a check box for just showing "Construction". Surely you know the difference between construction work and regular maintenance, even in your IRL-alienated bubble?

"Our taxpayers" obviously does not include yourself?

Hint: denial is not a river in Africa.

Ok, I did what you said, and now I see some construction sites, but how do we attribute them to Pete Buttigieg? The New York State Department of Transportation is who repairs state highways, and city/town governments fix local roads.

Nothing would be fixed if it weren't for Pete?

Haven't you seen it on Fox News? The big DoT-truck filled with money, that Pete uses as he travels to every construction site in every state, handing out money to all the workers?

I like joking around, but I was being serious. Is there any way we can thank Pete for doing anything out of the ordinary to make roads safer?
