I recently wrote to my rep, Marcus Molinaro, to tell him that I don't expect congress to fix the border, but that I want to know what he can do to help us adapt to our new insecure country.

I pointed out that we need home surveillance systems, metal doors, metal bars on our windows, street cameras, and more police.

He replied to me and said "I voted for H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act."

Well, I guess that solves everything, doesn't it?

It actually does. It solves the equations of how idiotic our reps are, and how stupid they think we are. It shows how money being spent on security is the most ridiculous of questions, and it explains why most people don't bother contacting their reps. He voted on a failed house resolution, and hip-hip-hooray for that!
