My BBS ded Fido to 1:124/5019 I am 1:124/5014

His board was inactive for a long time. never mad his account
inactive. He recently contacted me and asked f he was with same
fido number. He was. I checked to see if he had made changes to connection info but all was the same.

However every time I poll him I get a fail to connect message.
We have verified the port and they are open. I still get a Fail
to Connect message. He however can poll me but he says no files
are received. In my mystic box i see where he connects and files
    are transmitted.

So problem 1 for me is why can I not connect to is binkp server?

It's almost always a password problem when this happens. You'll have to carefully check if they match on both ends. Packet and session passwords. There are also passwords for Areafix and Tic files, although those
wouldn't prevent connection for mail. In the nodelist it shows that you
use a non-standard port (24555) for your BinkP, and that he uses the
standard port (24554). Are the node definitions on each end saying that?

I see where files are sent in that Mytic message box Which log
file do I look at if he polls me and I send files?

You're the NC for Net 124. You don't routinely monitor logs for activity and/or problems/issues? I find that almost impossible to believe. I don't know where logs are kept on a Mystic system, but it should be easy to find.

I assume he has setup his ini files to import echo and files but
    only he knows

When troubleshooting, assumptions are a bad idea.

... All the easy problems have been solved.

How did you verify they are open? Because:

    1:124/0 pbmystic.rdfig.net:24555 75.87.11.243 Ok.
1:124/5009 fmlynet.dyndns.org - Error: Cannot getaddrinfo - Name or service not known
    1:124/5014 pbmystic.rdfig.net:24555 75.87.11.243 Ok.
    1:124/5015 pbmystic.rdfig.net:24555 75.87.11.243 No such AKA.
    1:124/5016 endofthelinebbs.com:24554 2604:880:52:866:f1d0:1:124:5016 Ok. 1:124/5016 endofthelinebbs.com:24554 192.138.210.158 Ok.
1:124/5019 southerncharmbbs.com - Error: Cannot getaddrinfo - Name or service not known

If you use the same host name, there is your problem: It doesn't exist anymore...

You can also dump node 1:124/5009 from the nodelist. And you need to fix your AKA's in your binkd config or remove node 5015 from the nodelist.

    Bye, Wilfred.

That will depend on your .ini configuration, but by default it would be the mis.log file at /mystic/logs directory.
