Our brains are not designed to remember everything, but they
can deduce or conjure up an apparently lost memory by using
other elements that we *do* remember.

I like David Allen's take on the mind & memory:

"Your mind is for having ideas, not holding them."

So write down things you don't want to forget. Of course the trick is remembering to go back and look at that list! ;)

I tried using an "app" on my BB10 to keep track of my grocery
list. But that system failed when I would forget to bring the
phone with me or when the battery is just about to run out.

I'm back to using a simple list on paper that I keep attached
to the fridge, but that system fails sometimes when I forget to
    take the list with me.

SO, it appears that I need to pin a checklist right on the
inside of the front door of my house that reminds me to check
the list on the fridge. :/
