Hello All!
I am very sorry for possible stupid question. What BBS over IP Software (Debian Linux) exists now? if it will have in addition also www interface as read only, it will be excellent.
best regards,
While there are well-known programs such as Synchronet and Mystic, I'd also like to mention a few other options for Linux users to choose from:
There's Magicka BBS, which is a very new software project that is actively developed by Andrew Pamment. It already has support for Fidonet / Echomail
and makes use of Linux tools such as sqlite and Mosquitto. It supports scripting via Lua. It's WIP but absolutely worth checking out. (www.magickabbs.com)
Then there's MBSE which has been around about as long as Mystic (since 1997 I guess). That is the BBS software I use on debian Linux at the
moment. (www.sourceforge.net/projects/mbsebbs)
Finally, you may also have a look at bbbs, probably the last commercial BBS software for Linux still available today. License fees can be found on the website. (www.bbbs.net)
Id' also like to add that all of the above BBS systems are also available / compilable on ARM based Linux distros such as Raspbian Linux.
Greetings, Niels Haedecke
