    Find the file 'golded.tpl' and edit it. I can't tell you where it would be, as I don't know the Golded directory structure on Windows.

    Modify DEFAULT.TPL. Look in the docs about using templates as there's a lot
    of things you can do with them.

    I edited the Default.tpl and the Golded.tpl but it still doesn't change my name to my full name. Strange.

    or something like that in your golded.cfg?

    I added that line to my.cfg file, and it works now, but I have to select the golded.tpl file to start writing a message. That's file but it would be nice to have it just USE the Golded.tpl. How can I make it default to it?

    Funny. That is the line I have here and Golded reads the .tpl in the current directory.

    There are many template directives in the config, like:

    === Cut ===
    -- MESSAGE TEMPLATES

    // Path to the template files. Defaults to the GOLDPATH.
    ;TEMPLATEPATH R:\GOLDED\TPLS\

    // Select template based on the address of the message you want to
    // reply to.
    TEMPLATEMATCH YES

    // Message template filenames and descriptions.
    TEMPLATE GOLDED.TPL "Default template"
    TEMPLATE EMAIL.TPL "E-mail template"
    TEMPLATE NEWSGRPS.TPL "Newsgroups template"
    TEMPLATE DANSK.TPL "Dansk skabelon" 2:23/* ;
    TEMPLATE DANSK.TPL "Dansk skabelon" 2:234/* ; Used for
    TEMPLATE DANSK.TPL "Dansk skabelon" 2:235/* ; template
    TEMPLATE DANSK.TPL "Dansk skabelon" 2:236/* ; matching
    TEMPLATE DANSK.TPL "Dansk skabelon" 2:237/* ;
    TEMPLATE DANSK.TPL "Dansk skabelon" 2:238/* ;

    Just wondering, do you have 'editmenu no' in your config? I caught these two paragraphs under the 'template' option, and am somewhat confused by them. Does 'editmenu' need to be disabled? Or is it just another place to possibly select a template from? Either way, I have it disabled here, already.. and don't think I have ever had to manually select a template from a drop down list or anything.

    Templates defined in Random System groups always override the
    globally defined templates, except when selected from the EDITMENU
    or when automatic template matching is in effect.

    To override the automatic template matching, start by selecting a
    template manually using the READchangetemplate (Ctrl-T) command or
    the EDITMENU.

    Take a look at gold_ref.txt for the TEMPLATE keyword:

    template <file> ["desc"] [match-address]

    So:

    template /path/to/golded/golded.tpl "Default" *

    .. in your global configuration (not in a random system group).

    That worked. Thanks.

    No..

    No worries, it seems the config option I gave him worked without any of this extra stuff. Although, in my case I've never had to use "*" at the end of it, but figured if he had an odd configuration it might force it to use it everywhere.
