When you hit 'R' in the message menu on Mystic it tells you how many messages there are (ie. 26). If you hit enter it brings up a list of the messages. But, when I hit enter, it just shows the message menu again.
It doesn't do that in any other echo, just UKRNEWS. So currently, the
only way to access the messages is from my news reader.
I know this probably isn't the answer, but Mystic has different access levels in each echo or message base, you can have different access levels for all options such as READ, LIST, VIEW, POST, etc. For instance my FIDO echo's all have regular access to list and read, but only users with legit real names (which is a separate access level on my BBS) can post messages, It could be something as simple as that.. :)
The first messages that flowed in the UKRNEWS area had the private bit set. On a Mystic BBS no could read those messages unless your name was
in the TO: or FROM: in the header, very unlikely.. :)
That has since changed and messages flowing in the area don't have the private bit set anymore.
