We just got notified that power will shut off again Saturday afternoon..... This is aggravating. To make matters worse they are cancelling my homeowners insurance because of the area we live in. I have 3/4 acre lot and its cleared to the ground but that appears to not be good enough for them. I even sent pics that they ignored.....

Sorry to hear about the insurance. We got the same notification you did, so we're getting ready to go through the same process again.

Sounds like they're positioning this as the new abnormal. Can't wait to see what happens with the bankrupcy.

Last I heard they claim this will be the norm for the next 10 years....

We have two seasons - the warm season and the not so warm season.

We used to have a wet season and a dry season but it seems that they've phased out the wet season of late. :(

Gas pipeline neglect was the cause of the 2011 explosions, they've dropped
the ball in every way.

I work for a microgrid company, would love to get a solar/battery combo for the house. Tesla Powerwalls plus solar are a little pricey, though.

No fires near us.... We really don't live in an area where it is that bad plus all keep lots clear and not near the wind of other areas.... Most of my Live Oak trees on our 3/4 acre were lost during the drought and went down and cleared. Of course the insurance company wanted us to remove our Jasmine and plants too near the house.... What creeps..... Our broker told us to do none of that and we'd just find someone new. Nationwide was not on our side......
