And the hate continues on. Does it hurt to be so deceived and lied to? You'll believe anything.

I should create a fresh account on a new bbs and act like a liberal and fill you with garbage that you'd have no problem believe as long as it's anti-trump.

I bet it would be so easy. Problem is, I couldn't sustain such deceit for long.

I haven't voted for President since 2008 because it was clearly obvious

they were trying to draw you out to find out if you are a real person or not because someone took offense(?) with something (political) that one of your users (Daniel) wrote...

so it started with just his use of only his first name instead of his first and
last real name in his postings followed by a note that he wasn't listed as the sysop of the BBS he was using...

that's another problem that many in here have glombed onto, too... they think that every poster is the sysop of the board they post from... this because BBS users are a rare commodity these days and most of the posters in here are sysops... plus the huge fact that so many in non-US locations haven't had users
in like two decades which is/was generally blamed on the cost of local phone calls so they pushed folks more and more to being point systems and thus operators and we come full circle on the "all posters are operators" fallacy...

so anyway, just another fidonet-style spat that someone stirred up... kinda like what we've seen in years past that many of us had thought was finally over
    with

Donald Trump refused to fight for either one of them.

    Do you celebrate these deaths?

The current White House gift shop does, selling commemmorative
coins of the dead at $125 a pop.

Most of us view it as a tragedy and you see it as a hopeful way

President Trump is blaming everybody except himself as being

John Kerry was a war hero who actually fought in Vietnam.
Donald Trump is a chickenhawk who got 5 deferments as his
means of avoiding service. At least George W. Bush did

I haven't voted for President since 2008 because it was clearly obvious
    that
the system in California is corrupt.

Then why concern yourself with politics? Since it is obvious
you have no interest in taking part in our system of participatory
democracy, why should you care? Far easier to point your fingers
and criticize rather than be part of the problem/solution. Talk
about the epitome of laziness. And ineptitude. At least Donald
Trump is making an effort to do something, however badly.

Votes don't count when ballots are harvested in Los Angeles. And even with two million of the 'voters' removed, it won't change that fact. I'll bet Los Angeles will count more votes than they have voters in November.

Political apathy is a sign of stability. We should all move
to California. And leave everything else to Trump.

correct... this is one reason why there is a bit of a resurgence of BBSes in non-US locations... the main thing i was pointing to is that when there were some, the local call charges did not really allow users to call a BBS and spend (eg) 60 minutes a day online reading messages, playing door games, and transferring files... it was just too expensive so users in fidonet were pushed to being point systems and pulling echomail from the BOSS node which was much more affordable... granted, it didn't allow for door game playing but messages were the big thing... not sure about how they handled uploading files to a BBS... FREQing files is/was just natural as a point if the BOSS node allowed it...

I haven't looked in a while but a good place to look is the Telnet BBS Guide.

    http://www.telnetbbsguide.com

It lists close to 1000 BBSs. Most of them are available by telnet and a very few are available by dial-up.

Of course that list only contains BBSs where the operator has taken steps to get listed there. There are likely many, many others that haven't listed their BBS there, not yet anyway.

BBSing is still very much a thing today.

Uh, I know who I am.

Only for the moment you think you are.

I've added your name to the twit list on my BBS. I don't have the patience for trolls, and now I won't be getting messages from you on my BBS anymore.

    Thanks, my awesome sysop.

    Hello mark,

The entity known as "Daniel" did not properly introduce himself
as being anybody other than the sysop associated with the node

there is the flaw in your mental processes...

    Flaw? What flaw?

the flaw of you thinking everyone here is an operator...

I am not an operator ...
I do not pretend to be an operator ...

daniel certainly didn't introduce himself as the sysop of that
    system...

Really? Where is his signature in any of his messages addressed
    to me?

signatures are not required and they certainly perform *no* introductory task of any kind... you've been around long enough to know this...

    Every message has a signature.

Real hate is what your POTUS demonstrates every time he opens his mouth. He really, really hate Obama.

Here's a history lesson for you:

Ever since John Adams there's been a gentlemen's agreement, that a POTUS will never criticise his predecessor. For almost two and a half century this has been kept. Until #45 -- but his hatred exceeds all limits imaginable. Even today, after almost four years, he blames his mistakes on Obama.

Are you pulling my leg? Such kind words - "zone clown" now that's
a new one for me. Does it hurt when people disagree with you?

It looks like there's something quoted here with my initials that I
    didn't even write. ??

there is exactly that... LL is being his troll self again and
specifically attempting to stir the shit...

    Not at all.

yes, completely otherwise you would not have changed the initials used in the attributions on the quotes...

The entity known as "Daniel" did not properly
    introduce himself.

no one is required to do anything to introduce themselves in here or most any other echo... so you can get the hell off of that damned horse...

The signature at the bottom of the page is a node number with Eric Oulashid's name on it.

that's not a signature and you know it... that's the origin line which indicates which system placed the message into the echo stream... nothing more, nothing less... it has nothing to do with the person that wrote the message and certainly doesn't indicate that the writer is the operator of that system... you know this, too...

If the entity known as "Daniel" wishes to cause less confusion
for the sysop whose board he is currently using, I suggest he
    starts using his own signature.

how about the entity known as Lee Lofaso get off his high horse, first... perhaps LL's arguments are indicative that he is actually an alternate for Björn Felten as some have been suggesting for years? it would seem to follow accurately with those arguments... GoodJob!<tm> thanks for playing... and tipping your hand...

How do you tell the difference as to who is who or what is what?

"Can you distinguish an utter twat from a complete prick? I think
you can. An utter twat knows not what he or she does. A complete

There's no question on freedom of speech in this conversation. It's a privately owned system and Eric was annoyed by a sudden influx of annoying messages in a thread he wasn't part of. He doesn't even peruse Fidonet because, as he says it, it's a Fight-o-net.

The left likes to define 'freedom of speech' subjectively. I don't hear them complaining when a conservative is banned from twitter or facebook. That nutjob Alex Jones did nothing illegal when he was completely deplatformed over a conspiracy theory. Let that sink in. Deplatformed over a conspiracy theory.. I'm surprised the left didn't go after his domain registrar, the hate is brutal.
I didn't hear them complain when the donald reddit was silenced during a democrat debate. Only the donald reddit was silenced, by the way. But, you know, the speech was "violent" or something ridiculous and it's not worth looking
up. The blatant bias at these internet firms is nothing less than procedure.

Meanwhile, violent fascist groups like antifa get a free pass when they outwardly plan their activities.

A good friend of mine is an engineer at twitter and he's a relatively moderate conservative. He learned from day one that he has to keep his mouth shut

    Hello Bjrn,

Interesting. Where's your "position with fact and rhetoric" about the
injecting bleach that your Leader suggested?

    Or the sub-skin UV-light treatment ...

And let's not forget the heat treatment. Swallowing a soldering iron perhaps.

Then there's the wonder drug, the malaria medicine.

Hydroxychloroquine (sold under the brand name "Plaquenil").

Joe Orange bought 28, 29 or 30 million (different numbers on different TV shows) doses of it from the company that he's part owner of. Well, he made the taxpayers buy it of course, not himself. What a coincident...

Ward was administered hydroxychloroquine during his stay in the
hospital. Does that mean that Trump saved his life? Does that mean
the American people saved Ward's life, given they paid for the drug?

    Hello Bjrn,

How many millions of Americans have to die for his stock portfolio
to rise? He is beyond the pale.

Well, that seems to be up to the 69 million brainwashed US citizens who voted him in. How many do still think that he's the genius that he himself thinks?

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of
President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability,
preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

This is what he swore on. Does anyone think that he even has read the US Constitution? If so, how much has he understood?

Very little, if anything. Not that he cares.

    Or...

"These are just words. A bunch of words. It doesn't mean anything."

    Hello mark,

Are you pulling my leg? Such kind words - "zone clown" now that's
a new one for me. Does it hurt when people disagree with you?

It looks like there's something quoted here with my initials that I
    didn't even write. ??

there is exactly that... LL is being his troll self again and
specifically attempting to stir the shit...

    Not at all.

yes, completely otherwise you would not have changed the initials used in the attributions on the quotes...

The sysop is responsible for everything that happens on his system.

The entity known as "Daniel" did not properly
    introduce himself.

no one is required to do anything to introduce themselves in here or most any other echo...

    My statement stands.

so you can get the hell off of that damned horse...

Unlike yours, mine is not stuffed.

The signature at the bottom of the page is a node number with Eric
    Oulashid's name on it.

that's not a signature and you know it...

    Yes, it is.

that's the origin line which indicates which system placed the message into
    the echo stream...

    And a signature.

    nothing more, nothing less...

It is what one reads into it.

it has nothing to do with the person that wrote the message and certainly doesn't indicate that the writer is the operator of that system... you know
    this, too...

It has everything to do with the sysop, as the sysop is responsible
for everything that happens on his board. But you know this.

If the entity known as "Daniel" wishes to cause less confusion
for the sysop whose board he is currently using, I suggest he
    starts using his own signature.

how about the entity known as Lee Lofaso get off his high horse, first...

The entity known as "Daniel" did not wish to debate in an honest
manner, which is why he refused to properly introduce himself.

perhaps LL's arguments are indicative that he is actually an alternate for Bjrn Felten as some have been suggesting for years?

I am a subconscious fragment of your mind.

it would seem to follow accurately with those arguments...

Keep believing that. I am a subconscious fragment of your mind.

GoodJob!<tm> thanks for playing... and tipping your hand...

Hand? What hand? I am a subconscious fragment of your mind ...

I think you're replying to the wrong person. I didn't write the

so it started with just his use of only his first name instead of his first and last real name in his postings followed by a note that he
wasn't listed as the sysop of the BBS he was using...

that's another problem that many in here have glombed onto, too...
they think that every poster is the sysop of the board they post
from... this because BBS users are a rare commodity these days and
most of the posters in here are sysops... plus the huge fact that so
many in non-US locations haven't had users in like two decades which is/was generally blamed on the cost of local phone calls so they
pushed folks more and more to being point systems and thus operators
and we come full circle on the "all posters are operators" fallacy...

some people need a big irony emoticon attached to the text (and than an explanation what this emoticon means) before they recognize irony.

so anyway, just another fidonet-style spat that someone stirred up... kinda like what we've seen in years past that many of us had thought

I've thought that all my life.

In Swedish we have the other way around "problem". Two words that are spelled exactly the same can have a totally different meaning. E.g. the word "tomten". With the same emphasis on the first part, but with an ever so minute difference in acuteness, it can mean Santa Clause (upwards) or the property lot (downwards).

There's many other examples. Very hard for adult people learning Swedish to get right, getting rid of their accent. I guess it's one of the reasons that to some people it sounds like we are singing when we speak.

    "Lee" + "Ward" = "Leeward"
    Everybody knows what that means.
    "Lofaso" means "The Wall"
Put the two together and what you
    have is something truly disastrous.
I will spare you the details.

    For Life,
    Lee
