I tried to explain it to you. It is all quite simple, really.
And it is not just the USA that regard the number 13 as unlucky,
but all English-speaking areas.

Oh, I am sure some non-English speaking areas also regard the
number 13 as unlucky for the same reason.
You see, it all goes back to the Last Supper. The number 13 is
unlucky because one of those thirteen present was the betrayer of
Jesus Christ. And Judas Iscariot, the disciple who betrayed Jesus,
was the 13th to sit at the table.
As I said - superstition.
There is nothing superstitious about any of this. It is all
in the holy book. Jesus chose all the disciples, and the last
one chosen was Judas Iscariot. And during the last supper he
told all of them that one of them would betray him. After he
finished his meal, he told his betrayer to get on with it,
and went alone to pray in the garden.
12 disciples + 1 Jesus = 13
The last disciple chosen by Jesus was Judas Iscariot.
The last disciple to sit at the table was Judas Iscariot.
The disciple Jesus referred to as "Satan" was Judas Iscariot.
Jesus went alone to pray in the garden.
Some of the disciples later went to see what was going on.
Judas Iscariot approached Jesus and kissed him. On the lips.
In front of Roman soldiers. And seen by some of the disciples.
Do you know what Jewish religious leaders do to guys who
frolick in public places? Roman soldiers might not care, but
Jewish religious leaders definitely do.
And what about the other disciples? What do you think went
through their heads when they found out that Judas Iscariot
and Jesus were closer than brothers?
Yes, Jesus was defintely right. One of them most definitely
did betray him. Which is why the number 13 is, and always will
be, an unlucky number.
