Hello Everybody,
It has been 75 years. The Tokyo War Crimes Trial.
One man, who could have prevented Japan from ever going to war
in the first place, was never charged or tried for his crimes.
Not by any country in the world. We all know who that was.
So, the question remains. Why was Emperor Hirohito never brought
to justice?
"One week after the surrender of Japan on September 2, 1945, General
Douglas MacArthur—the Supreme Commander of the Allied Powers—ordered
the arrests of Japanese suspects, including General Hideki Tojo.
Twenty-eight defendants, mostly Imperial military officers and
government officials, were charged. From May 3, 1946, to November 12,
1948, the trial heard testimony from 419 witnesses and saw 4,336 pieces
of evidence, including depositions and affidavits from 779 individuals.
Seven defendants were sentenced to death by hanging and 16 defendants
were sentenced to life imprisonment." ~WWII Museum in New Orleans
7 sentenced to death by hanging.
16 sentenced to life imprisonmet.
Emperor Hirohito given a pass.
Why?
What would the Japanese military have done if their
beloved Emperor had refused to allow them to go to war?
Was he not just as guilty as those who actually fought
for their dear Emperor?
After all, the Emperor represented *all* Japanese.
Not just some or many. But *all*.
If Emperor Hirohito had ordered all Japanese to commit
hari kari, every man, woman and child would gladly have
done so.
So why was the Emperor not charged with any crimes?
Can anybody answer that one simple question?
I can. Although nobody will believe me -
After atomizing two Japanese cities, US General Douglas MacArthur
demanded the Emperor to renouce his claim of being a god. Or else.
It only took a few days for the Emperor to make up his mind. He
complied with Gen. MacArthur's command, renouncing his own claim
as Emperor by handing it off to the General. With that, the war
ended and Japanese women everywhere threw flowers upon their
new god, obeying his every command.
Sushi, anyone?
