Hey Janis,
Just a heads up, but since your update trying to access any of the areas on www.filegate.net gets a permissions error from apache. Not sure if the update
somehow updated your directory permissions or changed the apache user? Anyways
figured I'd pass it along. Best of luck!
BTW, I still have to do another upgrade...

Just like Microsoft Windows just did. :P
Heh... Ron runs Windows so yeah I guess he did do an upgrade recently.
Tomorrow Ron & I are going to attack this new box I have sitting here.
He offered to help, I said definitely :)
So... <<Prism will probably be down for a bit, but it has to be done.

They originally just did the update on the second Tuesday, but now, they
do more than that.

Weather has kept me offline for quite a bit.
We've had tornadoes and
severe flooding in the state in the last several days. And, I saw tonight that one of the forecast models is bringing a hurricane to southeast
Texas late next week. When I see the other models latch onto it, I'll be concerned. But, I've seen so many model runs where it's talking about a massive hurricane, tornado outbreak, winter storm, etc. on one run...and
on the next model run, it's gone.
Hi Daryl,
Yeah, it seems necessary changes are coming fast and furious for
people's systems. That's good.
I try to trust the weather-boys... because you know, the day I figure
"it won't happen", it WILL :(
Well, we are still waking up, drinking coffee over here (it's 10:28AM)
but we will attach the 'hardware' monster in a short while.. eek.

I drink a quart or two of diet green tea citrus a day. Doing that, and
no longer drinking soda pop, I haven't had any kidney stones.
Ok, the bbs is running fine in fidonet, but I still haven't had much success with the webserver..
I'm taking my time.. if you see anyone ask, you can tell 'em for me.. :)

I'm not sure if it's my browser or web settings over here...but when
I click on Connect Via Telnet, it just sits there.

Since I updated to Kim's new release of Toy-5 I've not had trouble with the webserver. I am replying now from the web interface. :)
My setup is not complicated though. I have no extras at all, just BBBS answering with it's own web bbs presence.
Whatever the issue happens to be I hope you can get that resolved without too much trouble.
I told her "Unlike the female cervix, the male penis can't dialate".

Is that on the prism bbs website?
I notice the same thing on my own. The link points to the correct hostname but
my BBS is on a different port so it doesn't work here either.
I'll have to figure out a solution to that.

I'll have to give toy-5 a try.. Everything is just so messed up over
here.
My web site is up and down (mostly down) as I try to get the dang thing back up..

Geez Daryl lol lol
The web server at filegate is down right now.. once in a while in the
last day or so, when I try something new with it, I give it a try... so far no luck though... :(

Fun aint it.. :)
One of my members said you were back up. So just now i tried connecting to the
filegate.net and it was down. I've moved my feed to Eric Renfro, 1:135/300 so you can remove me from your ststem config.
Hope everything else is going well on your end.

My tabs are weird in scripts so I'm going to try to manually post the
latest newsletter here and hatch out the archive.. Kind of a bummer,
but it 8:20PM..
I probably just need to work on it in the morning :)
Janis, fwiw, you have my sympathies... I hope all your equipment gets well soon!

Ha - not so much :)
It's amazing the things one forgets because one set up this and that
batch file or script so loooong ago :( For instance, I _think_ today I got most of the web pages at filegate.net working again.
I'm getting there, though it is a pain in the butt <g>
I'm sometimes amazed at the the files that still need to be updated
over here..
But at least I'm getting there... :)

Eventually I'll get all the pages updated, etc... and I still have to
work on some of the daemons...
I noticed the site was back up but not all in working order yet. I'm patiently
waiting for the ftp daemon to come back because I have a couple new files for you.
Thanks for the update. Nice to hear from you, Janis, and glad you're making progress.

This version of Ubuntu is quite a bit different than the version I was running
earlier... a bit of a bummer that way :(
Andy, for now, it would be great if you would email any new files to me as an attach to jmklou@gmail.com.
Let me know if that works for you, please!

I am noticing now that I get older, I don't like change as much. Though recently I switched from Debian to Manjaro. Seems good so far.

That works just fine for me, Janis. I sent two files off to you a few minutes ago.
I hope you and your family enjoy your Indie Day weekend. :)
