Well, I can imagine that I am a black footballer, but, anyway, I don't understand the logic or the language of the action. I remember from books that if a knight knelt before something he showed his respect to it.

bowing one's head in shame

I'm not a footballer (but AM black). They are knealing to protest (Like what Mark said) how the ownership are treating some of them. 'they' feel as if ownership is showing favoritism to the 'gifted' players, and as soon as they get hurt (and other things) they toss them out like trash. I kinda understand, but at the same time They get paid ALOT of money for what they do, and they know the situation...

I'm not a footballer (but AM black). They are knealing to protest
(Like what Mark said) how the ownership are treating some of
them. 'they' feel as if ownership is showing favoritism to
the 'gifted' players, and as soon as they get hurt (and other
things) they toss them out like trash.

It seems such a situation is practically in any sport. People may admire at a little smart gymnast, but if she looses her form because of getting a heavy trauma she becomes unwanted in her team. Often rivalry inside the team is bigger and merciless than during competitions.

I kinda understand, but at the same time They get paid ALOT of
money for what they do, and they know the situation...

If the matter is hidden inside the club, why they do their protest during the American anthem?
