    I am going to revisit my Murder Motel issue here after 7+ months of putting
    it to the side....

    Anyone have info on getting this original to work on Mystic that is running
    on Windows 7 32bit? I have tried all different ways and versions of the game and no luck. The versions I have tried the most are:

    Murder Mansion from v2.03 1992,1993
    Murder Mansion v2.80
    Murder Motel 2114 v1.0
    MURDER MOTEL VERSION 4.0

    I pulled my original post online from back in April about my issue, so here it is and this is also where I left off too...

    Anyone have instructions for making Murder Motel door game work with Mystic 1.12 A43? My mystic is running on Windows 7 32bit and it is located on the harddrive at C:\mystic my netfoss is also located at C:\mystic\netfoss

    My netfoss NF.bat file is as follows:

    I have used the dd command as follows:

    My "mm.bat" file under C:\mystic\doors is:

    I have tried with out success leaving the "murder.cfg" un-edited. I have
    also edited my "murder.cfg" file in the following 2 ways for the door.sys
    still with no luck:

    WAY #1:

    Chuck
    Valecek
    9999
    60
    5
    2

    WAY #2:

    C:\mystic\temp%1\door.sys
    Suburban Software
    Chuck
    Valecek

    ...So there is my mess, here to hoping some of it makes sense!

    Hi Shane, I saw your msg and happen to run mystic on win32 myself. Here's my currently working setup for murder motel 4.6. Hope it helps you.

    I threw everything on pastebin. The fossil driver switch /FD is not
    mentioned in the docs for this game at all which is weird. I have other DOORFRAME games that do use so I added it and it worked.

    so i went looking on the old mystic VM and it wasn't running murder motel as i had thought... so a quick rummage into my old OS2 setup turns it up there running under my old RemoteAccess setup... so here's what jumped out at me...

    1. MM is not multinode capable. only one user at the time.
    2. my script copies the door.sys to the MM directory.

    additional debugging hints:

    add something to both of your bat files so you can see what the variables are that you are passing and how they will appear in the various command lines your scripts execute...

    eg:

    using the above, you will have to hit enter 6 times as the scripts run... this allows you to check each of the 6 command lines and the raw var data dumps... remote users will not see the pauses and will think the system has locked up... do not allow remote users to execute your netfoss doors until you have figured out what is going on and fixed it... then you can REM the pause lines and let the users have at it...

    Thanks man, I look forward to trying it out in the next day or few!!!

    That original is just one door that I always had going back to my first Commodore 64 BBS back on C-Net 10 & 11! So I feel lost not having the
    original on my current bbs! LOL

    Strange I know, but just like the football player that is still wearing the same sock from high school for luck I guess! ;)

    i just hope that it is easy to read and understand... adding the variables output helps a lot in many cases to see what is actually being worked with...

    i hope that you also noted in the mm.bat i posted that the copy of the door.sys file uses %4 which is (should be if i've read the command lines correctly) the bare nodenumber instead of %1 which has something else prepended to the node number...
