• Old gear.

I will admit that some old gear, I shouldn't have tossed. Like my original Vic-20, Atari 2600, Compaq huggable luggable "portable", and lots of old Apple // gear.

My rule of thumb is "Do I think I will ever use this again?". If no, then it goes in the trash. I recently tossed several tuners and (3) original modded Xboxs. I needed to free up more space for other crap. :)

Why trash them when you can put them up on Ebay for auction and let them
go to a new home ?

It costs more to ship than they are worth. And if someone buys one and files some type of Ebay complaint because they don't know how to format a hard drive, I am now out the cost of the shipping and sale. Ebay always rules in favor of the buyer.

I would rather give them away locally or toss them.

    This.

I refuse to sell anymore on Ebay for this reason...
