• Living on/for online

I watched someone (with no medial credentials that I am
    aware of)
    >discussing how our society has become so "connected" to the
    >point
?where we don't have to interact socially... or even go
    outside...
    >that it is having consequences on our mental well-being.

I'd imagine so, but that may depend on the person too. I live
alone here and usually only see other people one day every
2 weeks when I do the shopping and other errands and it doesn't
bother me much. I also rarely talk to anyone on the phone,
mostly my brother one day a week, so my online and eMail
contacts are almost my only human interaction other than the
few times a year in the summer when my niece and family come up
several times for a few days to use my sister's cottage next
    door.

I don't interact daily but I do try to get outside at least once a day. With the weather we've been having lately, at least 2-3 times a day -- and I don't take my phone with me. OTOH, I have a tween niece who rarely leaves her room and cannot go very long without her phone. She lives online, and it unfortunately shows. ;(
