Hello

I am working on setting up a BBS on the Commodore 128 using the vice eumator what is there any disk images that can handle up 20 mb of free disk place? If so, what type of file is it? How can I set it up please?

Vice handles CMD HD's and Lt Kernal Emulations, I currently run a C-Net 128 7.2+ system on a Emulated CMD 4.1 Gig HD, and I run a Image BBS v3.0 c64 on the same style plus a RamLink, and SCPU.. I also have just setup a new Image Network HUB running ona Lt Kernal Emulated HD.. As for setting up, the CMD files you need the CMD Binaries from Jim Brain, they are decently cheap. All you need once you have the binaries is to configure it create a blank text file and run the CMD HD Utils disk. Actually, now that I think about it the Lt Kernal Emulation only works in 64 mode as the writer of the emulation hasn't done it for the 128 yet. So you would have to use the CMD emulation..

Also, if you run iut on real hardware, a uiec/sd drive would do the job. You can find one at store.go4retro.com

I use both the uiec/sd for the C64 BBS and the CMD emulation for the C128 BBS. They both work well.

SF is correct I ran one of my BBS' with a uIEC/SD card on a Ultimate 64 for 2 plus years.. Only reason I took the board down and stopped using the card was the file structure was slowing down, meaning the directories were filling up and drive access times were very slow. Even at 24mhz from the U64 it was still slow times.. Other then that, the uIEC is an excellent "HD". I had 12 partitions on it and 32 gigs of space!
