Janis,
Hmmm... maybe I need to tighten it's leash <g>
Please re-leash me, let me know. I don't post you anymore. <G>
:)
Now, you'll be like that meme, where there's a guy in the hospital
bed, with his head all bandaged up. The doctor walks into the room,
with a huge sealed up glass jar, full of musical notes...and he says
"Good news, Mr. Smith!! We got rid of that tune that was stuck in your
head!!" <G>.
Hey, hope that goes well, and I'm glad you were able to dodge that one!
There was an EF-1 tornado in west central Arkansas in the Fort Smith
area (12 so far this year, and I think our average is 33). Then, there
were large tornadoes near Atlanta and in the Carolinas...plus, the
Birmingham area got intense significant flooding. An automated weather
station showed near hurricane force winds near Hot Springs, heading
toward Little Rock. So, I thought we were in for it...but the storm
weakened slightly (still 60 mph winds) when it moved into the area,
but the worst of it went north of me.
Unfortunately, most of our severe weather occurs after sunset, and especially overnight...so, many folks aren't even aware of it coming.
A few years back, the storms were so intense, that in the Little Rock
Metro Area (Pulaski County), there were 10 lightning strikes per second,
for a whole hour!! The thunder was nearly nonstop...and as expected,
there were widespread power outages. I think one strike hit a major
substation in the western part of the city.
With the frequent weather changes here lately, I've been dealing with migraine sinus headaches...where I can't hold my eyes open for long
periods of time. I know it's going to take quite a bit of time to move
stuff into the cloud (which will eliminate downtimes from thunderstorms
or from outages via power or internet), but I want to be alert when the
moving of data is done.
Yes, I saw that message as well... DOC's blaming my system for that..
:( I guess I'm not allowed to have problems with the system when all
the available nodes (16) are "busy", while someone else decides they
have to use FTP to grab every file on my system :(
Well, I have things to block the bots, and multiple concurrent connects... such as a changing CAPTCHA code every 5 minutes around the clock, and things
to block things like "admin", "sysop", etc. -- but when you're popular, what can you do??
Daryl
... Backups? We don't need no steenking backups.
