• Blocking an ip from all services

From Sean Rima@2:263/1 to All on Tue Jun 15 21:21:24 2021
Recently finding a few naughty people trying to log on with my name, of course I cannot see what password they are using as that isnt logged.

Is there a way in inet.bbb to bloxk the ip from all protocols or do I manually have to add each one

I find a lot of bots hitting port 22, 23 and 25. There can be a lot of activity on port 80 and 443 as well. I don't have anything listening on 22, 23 or 25 that that doesn't bother me. I have my telnet port listening on port 2030 just to avoid all that.

If someone was bothering you I'd block them at the firewall.

Yeah the bots dont worry me too much, it is the odd telnet connection who tries to log on as me. I assume I logged onto their bbs and they are using the weak password I used there :) will add them to the firewall

You can also block IP's at the bottom of the inet.bbb but I think you need to block each service you have open and want blocked.

Yeah been doing that. Firewall is the way to go
