Passengers of the American price fighter JetBlue are required to wear face masks on board from 4 May. The airline introduces that measure to limit the spread of the coronavirus that has spread from China.
The measure requires travelers to wear protective masks covering their mouth and nose, excluding small children, during flight and check-in, boarding and de-planing.
"Wearing a face mask is not only about protecting your own health, but also that of others," says COO Joanna Geraghty. This is the new flying. The air is continuously refreshed on board, but an airplane is a public space in which others have to be taken into account.
JetBlue also contributes to the fight against the corona virus. For example, the aircraft are cleaned extra, the crew wears masks and the number of passengers on board is limited to ensure sufficient distance between them.
Passengers are reminded of the mask required by e-mail and signs at the airport
before departure.
