A Ukrainian military plane has crashed about 20 kilometers south of the capital Kiev. There were fourteen people on board the Antonov An-26. Five
of them have died, according to Ukrainian police. Nothing is known about the cause.
The crash happened amid reports of Russian attacks in the Kiev area.
Russian helicopters attacked the military airbase at Hostomel near Kiev. That airport is also home to the only airworthy Antonov An-225, the world's
largest aircraft.
According to unconfirmed reports, the attack is being carried out with several dozen Russian helicopters from Belarus. Ukraine says it shot down three of those helicopters.
