The Malaysian government has approved a new search for a Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared more than ten years ago. A proposal by the American company Ocean Infinity to search at a new location in the southern Indian Ocean has been approved, Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Loke said on Friday.

Flight MH370 is one of the world's biggest aviation mysteries. The Boeing 777-200ER, with 239 people on board, disappeared from radar in March 2014 during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. What went wrong has never been clear. The wreckage has never been found, although wreckage has washed up in Africa and on islands in the Indian Ocean.

Ocean Infinity also searched the seabed for remains of the missing plane in 2018. That was the last search attempt. If the company is successful now, it will receive 70 million dollars (67.5 million
    euros) from the Malaysian government.
