The severe weather threat for Tornado Watch 215 continues.

SUMMARY...A threat for wind damage, hail and a tornado or two is
expected to persist early this morning from southern Tennessee and
northeast Alabama east-southeastward across much of northern
Georgia. Weather watch issuance may be needed as the convection
approaches the eastern edge of WW 215.

DISCUSSION...The latest hi-resolution radar imagery from Huntsville,
AL shows a linear MCS, with several embedded severe storms, located
from southeast Tennessee southwestward into far northern Alabama.
Ahead of the MCS, the RAP has MLCAPE generally in the 1500 to 2000
J/kg range. The WSR-88D VWP from Huntsville, AL has 0-6 km shear
near 45 knots, suggesting that supercells and bowing line segments
will be possible. The wind-damage potential should be greatest along
the leading edge of the stronger line segments. In addition, VWPs
have 0-3 storm-relative helicity near 250 m2/s2, suggesting that an
isolated tornado threat will be possible with supercells, especially
with cells that interact with the outflow boundary. The threat
should continue to persist as the MCS moves along either side of the
outflow boundary, and across the remainder of northeast Alabama and
northern Georgia later this morning.
