    Hi folks...

Been quite some time since I last appeared here and for that I'd like to apologize. However, I've had my head down for that time period working on the 64bit version of ViaMail! for Windows. So this message represents the first one extracted from ViaMail!'s internal message bases and released directly into this echo.

Having said that, the program is not yet ready for prime time but it's my hope that people will respond to this message so that I can in turn respond to them and together we can verify proper operation.

A partial list of ViaMail!'s features:

    - Operates in Windows 64bit
    - Outlook 365 inspired UI
    - Supports Binkp sessions (immediate PKT processing)
    - Supports File Requests (Binkp/1.1)
    - Session History
    - Built-in Netmail and Echomail message bases
    - Built-in TIC file areas (not finished)
    - Multi-network support
    - Built-in configuration
    - Nearly all of the functionality of ViaMail! v2 for DOS

I don't want to get too carried away listing all of the features because as preiously mentioned, it's not ready for prime time (still a number of months away) but I have been receiving mail from my FidoNet hub (Terry Roati) for a number of weeks now in a reliable fashion. So I'll expand the feature list as more and more of the features are completed.

Feel free to ask questions and I'll do what I can to answer them.

    Regards,

    Joe Martin

    Hi Scott...

There will be a point where I'll need more people to help with the testing, just not quite there yet. However, I'll keep you in mind.

I've paused development on ViaMail! for a few of days (no more than a couple of weeks) to write a EList type program which will allow real-time changes to the various NA/NO files. It will act just like a Mailer with FREQ capabilities using Binkp only without the mail processing side. A user will compose a specially formatted netmail message (similar to AreaFix) to make changes, request files etc.

    Thanks,

    Joe Martin
