    Hello everybody.

    I have a Windows 10 VM in which I run a Mystic-based BBS.

As I am willing to run a few Python-based scripts on it, I have downloaded Python 2.7, installed it, but I have two issues:

    * I can't run python outside the C:\python27 directory;
    * I can't install modules with pip outside the c:\python27\scripts directory.

I checked the environment variables and added PYTHON_PATH to c:\python27 and also added c:\python27\scripts to the PATH variable. Still, no changes.

    Should I add anything else?

    Hi from Russia, Flavio!

    I have a Windows 10 VM in which I run a Mystic-based BBS.

How about pip into Windows (not into Linux)?

I checked the environment variables and added PYTHON_PATH to
c:\python27 and also added c:\python27\scripts to the PATH variable. Still, no changes.

WHY You do not use Python 3.6.0? It's ok on Windows 7x64, Flavio

    Denis,

    Hi from Indiana US.

I'm new to Python and about to start the setup as well. There are many scripts/bbs mods that state "must use Python 2.7," and few that state "Must
use Python 3.0." Is Python 3+ downward compatible to 2.7 scripts?

Also, I couldn't get this answer on another network -- I also run Windows 10
64 Bit. I run a 32 bit version of Mystic, as I was told its more compatible with Doors ... With that said, do I download the 32bit or 64 bit version of Python?

Like the post originator, I too am having difficulty getting the BBS to see python and execute scripts.

no... it is not... it should be easy enough to ""port"" python2 scripts to python3, though...
