That's the ONLY reason you don't like that statement?

Not that fact that it is stating that if X occures there will be a knee jerk unilateral reaction without any investigation as to who the actual purportrators are? Not the fact that once again congress will have been circumvented and the executive office will be allowed to wage war without congressional approval of an act of war?

Imagine if we had gone to war with the Soviet Union seconds, minutes, or hours after the Kennedy assasination before we had even taken a breath to ask if they were actually responsbile or not?

Though let's worry about the image that the secret service might not be able to protect the President.. Sounds about on par with how screwed up this administration is.

That's how I see it too, and it's not unrealistic. An assassination attempt on our leader by a foreign country couldn't possibly go smoothly for them. The vice president couldn't ignore it, and neither could congress.

He is showing strength. Assassination attempts aren't strength. They are cowardness and the muslims

IHMO: He's quietly forcing regime change in Iran. The muslim "leaders" are losing face all over the place now. It's only a matter of time before the Persians push them out and take the country back. But that must happen internally without any U.S. interference.

The regime's tough talk has been going on for a long time. I can't speak for any Iranian people, but I think it's safe to assume that they're not happy about the mass executions.
