I am not as concerned about the inane policies coming out of the White House as much I am about the innaction of the legislative brach, and the questionable recent decisions by SCOTUS.

If the 2 other branches of the government work the way they are supposed to, it shouldn't matter who we have in the oval office. That is how the system of checks / balances was supposed to work.

The Supreme court said... District Judges cannot make law out of Whole Cloth... Districted Judges see cases in a district and make decisions on that case.

BTW, someone in THAT case can appeal... But that District Judge can make decisions on that case.

Moreover, Legislators can legislate new laws for for judges to interpret... But judges don't make law.

Justice ACB put it best in saying yes... Presidents aren't above the law, either are Judges. And District Judges have exceeded their authority.

Congress has the primary authority to impose tarrifs. The purpose of the Execute branch is to EXECUTE those tarrifs through treaties.

So far, the tarrifs have come straight from the Executive branch through executive orders. Congress has ceded that authority either outright through law, or by innaction.

It's the way the constitution wrote their authority. They sited the constitution in their decision...

For 250 years its worked that way. A district judge hears a case and makes a decision and if people don't like that decision it gets appealed.

The Justices said... You can only decide on THAT case because THAT'S all the authority you have, as per the constitution.

BTW, its not disingenuous when that is the wording from the Supreme Court.

BTW, Again... There is a video out where Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan was on camera apposing this District Court Judges, doing the same to Biden, then only later to support them because it was against Trump.

So... To use your analogy of cogs in the machinery...

1st Cog, District Judges
2nd Cog, Appellate Court
3rd Cog, Supreme Court

250 years of working fine. It may take time but it works fine.
For 246 years Presidents have signed Executive Orders/Actions... Note the 4 years there was an Auto-Pen signing them without knowledge... And the 1-2-3 court system has worked fine. for 250 years...

Congress ceded authority a long time ago when they passed laws that said that unelected bureaucrats could, effectively, write laws.
