    Consumer confidence in the US has taken a huge hit. Since it has been surveyed, confidence has only been lower once. Confidence was still at 74 in December 2024. Now it has fallen to 50.8. Only in June 2022 was confidence lower. At that time, it was due to inflation and fears surrounding COVID.
