word "poll" and they think that it's a message from God.

Yes, it should be a red flag. This is another place where the Elitists warped the language for their own purpose.

Most people are conditioned to believe that a poll is a representative slice of the population, so a poll would (at least fairly) accurately represent the public. The facts are that the polls are highly skewed in favor of whoever is producing them (usually Elitist Propaganda organizations).

Every time I hear on the news "According to a recent poll..." I just want them to stop right there and explain how the poll was conducted, and I want names and addresses of the poll's participants. They can't honestly say "we randomly selected participants from around the USA" because obviously it's illegal to call people randomly to ask them questions. (DONOTCALL.GOV)

Maybe this "poll" gimmick made more sense in the 80s, prior to the modern laws that prevent people from making those phonecalls. But it's hard to teach an old brainwashed zombie new tricks.

But that's not saying too much. A rock has more personality than most of those "candidates" and it more trustworthy.

That goes for "studies" and "research" as well.

Sadly, the do-not-call-list doesn't apply to political calls. I'm not sure about general poll calls. I'm sure about telemarketer cold calls (not that it stops anyone based on the number I still get).

Calling it a "gimmick" is correct. That's just what it is: Propaganda to make the gullible think that "everyone" is thinking a certain way.
