Yes, it should be a red flag. This is another place where the Elitists warped the language for their own purpose.
Most people are conditioned to believe that a poll is a representative slice of the population, so a poll would (at least fairly) accurately represent the public. The facts are that the polls are highly skewed in favor of whoever is producing them (usually Elitist Propaganda organizations).

honestly say "we randomly selected participants from around the USA" because obviously it's illegal to call people randomly to ask them questions. (DONOTCALL.GOV)
Maybe this "poll" gimmick made more sense in the 80s, prior to the
modern laws that prevent people from making those phonecalls. But it's hard to teach an old brainwashed zombie new tricks.
