I have mentioned in the past I watch a YouTube channel where there are 2 lawyers. One was/is Canadian, Viva (David) Frei, a litigator that use to practice in Montreal Quebec Canada. He left Canada around the time when Bill C-11 was passed... this Bill, now law, allows the government to control content on the Internet... He thought it was time to get out before it was too late. He now resides in the great state of Florida.

His counter part is Robert Barns, a constitutional lawyer in the US. For those that don't know Robert Barns is a rock star in the area of constitutional law....

I'm going to attach a link at the end of the message.

Robert gives solid constitutional argument about why Trump didn't do anything wrong.

Robert gives a solid constitutional argument as to why this is a watershed moment for our constitutional republic.

Robert gives a solid argument about the deep state involvement and the reasoning behind having the grand jury convene in DC and not Florida like it should have been.

He gave several constitutional arguments to have the whole thing tossed out...

It is worth the listen, even if you're too busy drinking the Kool-Aide.

For my gente in the echo who wanted to see some Viva... here you go!!!

It's pretty clear what Donald did wrong.

Robert gives a solid constitutional argument as to why this is a watershed moment for our constitutional republic.

The watershed moment was when Donald Trump was inaugurated.

America survived that and decided it was over after four years.

It is worth the listen, even if you're too busy drinking the Kool-Aide.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxCDVOmGPlo&list=WL&index=2&t=48s

I was going to entertain this but I just don't have the 50 minutes to invest in it.

Can you boil down the constitutional argument in a paragraph or two?

Robert gives solid constitutional argument about why Trump
    didn't do anything wrong.

His argument is flawed. He is arguing that the President can do just
about anything with documents, i.e. declassify them if he wants. The
problem with that argument is that the documents in question were not declassified and that Trump is not the President -- he is an ordinary
citizen who used to be President.

Robert gives a solid argument about the deep state
involvement and the reasoning behind having the grand jury
convene in DC and not Florida like it should have been.

Duh -- the grand jury that indicted Trump was in Florida, not DC.

At the time he took the documents he was president... and he could take them, if he chose to... like his predecessors did ... Article 2 gives him that authority. In the past the Supreme court decided 9-0 on it... in Bill Clinton's time a judge ruled that he could take and keep the recordings he had... they were in a sock drawer...

I was listing to Trump speak on what he was going to do when he gets back into office... Other than be frigging AWESOME.... I heard him being introduced at the young conservative meeting in NY as the 45th, 46th & soon to be 47th president of the United States... I digressed...

He wants to table an amendment for term limits for congress... That'll be an uphill battle if I ever saw one.

He talked about decentralizing DC... For example moving the Agricultural department to Iowa... I forget where he said he wanted to move it... BUT that make sense... Move it to where they grow stuff... He has said in the past that he wanted to dismantle the Education department and move this function back to the state... Where it belongs... All this, among other things, to move the power back to the people.

    Hello Joe,

He wants to table an amendment for term limits for congress...

Term limits are a bad idea, along with being anti-democratic.
We the people should be free to elect the Putin of our choice.
And keep their Putin in office for as many terms as they want.

That'll be an uphill battle if I ever saw one.

There have been 40.000+ attempts to change the US Constitution
with only 27 successful amendments making the grade.

Not even Abraham Lincoln could get an amendment to ban slavery
passed and ratified. That had to wait until s/he was dead.

While I agree, some politicians in states (like mine) make noise about dismantling the state DoE. The one here lost the election, but I wonder if other MAGA politicians in other states might be successful. If that is the case, there will be some counties who can manage, but there will be many
rural counties who will not be able to manage without some state or federal level organization in place who will supply them with money to supplement
    their small tax base.

As the constitution reads.. The 10th Amendment "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Jimmy added the DoE as a quid pro quo for helping him get elected...

I'm not sure of all the other countries stances out there on this matter... I do know that in Canada their view on education is not a federal concern. Each county takes care of their own concerns. The Federal government may kick in some money... I am not sure if they do... But each county has its boards and each province has its unions... It's not a macro-country-wide thing.

I am personally okay with a small Federal government with a limited footprint in our lives. Having a federal government work on a strict budget where the US tax payer's money helps the US tax payers and doesn't fund endless wars and is used to protect foreign counties borders and the US is left wide open.

If there is funding for education... Let the federal government write checks to the State and let the State fund it in the way they choose... and the people can chose if they are doing a good job or not.

Name one federal agency that does a good Job?? DoD can't account for Trillions....

I think you missed the point. If there is no federal DoE, and you have a
MAGA governor who has done away with your state DoE, where do your small,
poor, rural counties get the money to make up their shortfall from? For
that matter, where do the districts get any guidance from?

Believe me, they also need guidance. Without state-level guidance, what do
you expect that the school board in Leftyexcrementholeville would be

Maybe you missed mine.... What did we do before Jimmy implemented the DoE?? Everything was fine.... How are other counties' educational system doing... The ones that don't have a federal approach to their system... Probably fine...

They whole idea behind the US being a Constitutional Republic is to have a Federal government with a smaller footprint in our lives. The system should be promoting stronger local governments. If the State and local governments elect officials that don't use funding the way the local people want then they can deal with it locally and at the State levels.

The problem with the current system as I see it... The Federal government loves to give money with strings attached to it... Transgender this or that... Equity this or that... Inclusion this or that...

Let the states decide what they want to do... Oregon passed something where they want to remove reading and writing proficiency from their schools... Where as.... Let say Florida wants to keep a merit based system focused on the core essentials in their schools. As a parent you have a choice where to live and or where to send your children to school.

I think the Feds should focus on the citizens and not all these endless wars. It's obvious with all the spending DC does that they take too much from the citizens.... Everyone needs to focus their budgets and prioritize their policies.

There was a lady in the teachers unions, recently in Chicago, who went to jail... she made $280,000.00 a year.... Who the F$#k needs to make that much... No wonder we spend the most and have dismal results.
