Hi everyone,
There's a simple fix for the DOS issue in ArcaOS. It involves the DOS subsystem video driver.
The fix is this: go into your CONFIG.SYS and look for this line:
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS
and change it to this:
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS /INT10TEXTGRFXSAFE
RICK SMITH wrote to SEAN DENNIS <=-
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS /INT10TEXTGRFXSAFE
I did try this, still does not allow me to use windows, I can start
full screen then alt-home to a window.
at the office, so can't look it up. But it has to do with issuing a
MODE statement in the autoexec.bat. I do remember that much.
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS
and change it to this:
DEVICE=C:\OS2\MDOS\VSVGA.SYS /INT10TEXTGRFXSAFE
Like it was said, Arca is aware of this but this problem involves going deeper than they're currently allowed into the OS/2 kernel so they are trying to get permission from IBM to fix this.

Yeah let me know if you come across it... Id be interested in trying something.

So IBM still won't give up the goods, huh? Wonder why?
Peace,
