• Does Mystic support this EGA-like RIP graphics format?

    Hello zdrmonster,

I've been hearing about it, and I don't think SyncTERM supports it.

SyncTERM does support RIP graphics. I haven't tried it since I don't know of any BBSs that are sporting RIP.

It seems to be from the 1990s and was a way for BBSes to have more graphics than ANSI art, Synchronet apparently "supports" it but I
haven't known much more than that. Does the Mystic software support
    it?

Back in the 90's I used ripterm to log into RIPable BBSs, they had a cool look about them. The door game LORD also supports RIP and looks good with RIP support.

RIP was a commercial venture back then. If you wanted to go full RIP you could register and get a RIP editor to create the screens.

Not much ever came of RIP, it was never widely supported but it was cool.

    Ttyl :-),
    Al

I didn't see the original message, but RIP is just text being sent over a screen so there is nothing stopping someone from making a Mystic BBS RIP theme.

I know of at least one BBS (Black Flag) that took the time to do a RIP setup a couple years ago with Mystic. I don't know if its still up or accessible.

... If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice

I forget the URL now but the sysop at Black Flag put together a windows installer (an .msi file) that folks could use on 32bit/64bit windows to install a 32bit (I think) version of ripterm. The newer ripterm for windows.

I'd try but I have no windows here but I am sure it is on Black Flags web page if anyone wants to give it a go.
