Oh - Salvation - the older one... I thought it was fine! Not the best
movie ever, IMO, but didn't suck.

As far as I'm concerned, only the first two Terminator movies were any good or had any merit. The rest were just milking it.

The new Rambo wasn't much better. Some actors need to know when to hang up
the sneakers and start focusing on roles that better suit their age.

I did watch movie I really enjoyed, written by whomever wrote "I can only imagine," called "I still believe." True story about Jeremy Camp. Anyone
who has gone through serious greiving as I have, would appreciate the movie.

But normally I like spy, military, actionk and sports flicks. Frankly, I haven't seen any lately that really captured my attention.

"The Way Back" with Ben Affleck was pretty good for a sports flick, but no Remember the Titans.

    "6 Underground" was entertaining

"American Assassin" is fantastic actually, forgot about this one as I got through my netflix "watch it again" list ... thi sis the one I was looking
for. It was based on a book written by Vince Flynn, my favorite Spy Novel Author who died a few years ago of Cancer. His books live on via a shadow writter. I felt this was incredibly well done, considering many major producers have stolen stories from his books, turned them into blockbusters, and changed the story to avoid conflict, completely jacking up the movie...

I saw the original in the theater years ago. I thought it was OK and
never looked at the others at all. ;)

I liked all the alien movies although the original was the best.

I liked the first Rambo, don't remember the others, but the latest was forgetable. I couldn't tell you what it was about honestly, othe then Rambo.
I also liked the first three Rocky Flicks .. but Stallone seems to be having seperation anxiety from his classic flicks. I never bothered watching Terminator Salvation. I didn't like any after Terminator 2. I like SciFi,
but have to be in the mood to watch the genre, usually when ny dad visits
since hes a huge trek fan .... my family and I really enjoyed Stranger Things ... the first season was pretty creative. I like the first three star wars, but the "episodes" I had trouble following .. maybe it was Jar Jar that turned me off that run of Star wars .. but .. my kids loved every one of them, so
I've seen them all. I used to be a huge star trek fan, but haven't seen the latest released (Picard?) .. I suppose I'm more of a traditional action movie junkie ..

I remember when T2 came out, it was "the" movie of '91...

I remember it being new and 'different' as well! Different from the first, different from other movies of the time!

T2 was totally different and a game-changer. There wouldn't be anything like it at least for a couple years if I remember.

How anyone decided this was a good idea, how it got written, cast, filmed, produced, approved by a major studio is beyond freaking amazing.

Its pretty hard to have any kind of a payoff with a central character being killed off at the beginning. And it just had an unnecessary "woke" vibe to it.

Why couldn't everyone leave it alone after T2...

Totally agreed, it just went downhill after T2. It was like T3 they wanted to show viewers how far CG came. It LOOKED great, dead storyline.

The newest Rambo I'm kinda undecided about it. I liked the storyline, til the cartel came to his farm which he turned into a little Vietnam warzone. It was sad what happened to his niece, and kinda 'real world'.

Yeah, it was just OK. I actually found his caves to be the coolest part of
the movie, well .. at least .. I wanted one of my own :)

I haven't seen many action movies that really have totally impressed me
as of late, or they've been lesser known movies I just can't remember the
names of .. I keep saying this .. but I will find time to go through my
"watch again" list on Netflix and send some recommendations .. maybe I'll
    have time after classes today.

Tomorrow, I think it's Disney, The Black Widow comes out. I'm also excicted
to see the new Wonderwoman. Both hot chicks, both super hero flicks. Marvel normally doesn't disappoint. I'm also really really looking forward to watching the new Top Gun, but I'm unclear when/if it's releasing? It looks great based on how they filmed the pilots and flight scenes, including the actors actually being in the airplanes. Should really be some good special effects. If anyone knows it's release date, fire away!

Movies, at least before COVID, were made to sell tickets and put butts in the seats of the theaters. If it accomplishes that, it's a successful business venture. It doesn't have to 'hold up' in the long run.

    Sad, but true. LOL

I recently bought a very nice 4K TV because of COVID, got 2 MORE streaming services. I'd rather watch movies in Theaters ANY day!

Can't wait til it's 'safe' to go back. I want to see Black Widow. Can't think of any other movies I want to see yet, but hopeful there will be something I want to see. One of the 'good' things about summer. alot of the good movies I tend to gravitate to, comes out during the summer.
