    Everyone --
Daryl is still having problems with his BBS, ham radio and other things
from the storms in his area a week or more ago.
At last report he has no electric since the power was knocked out and the winds took his meter off his house and other things.
Just wanted to keep everyone posted.
If I hear anything more I'll pass it along.

    Thanks.
I let Ed Koon at Doc's Place know.
He's has no power the last I heard, the other day, and using local free
wifi to get out. He's thinking of just shutting everything down and all.
He's rather upset with the slowness of repairs, the insurance people debating if this or that is covered, etc,
    I'll post any updates here.

I got an e-mail the other day that hopefully power will be restored at
his place this week and he can go back home after spending a couple of weeks
    at a motel.
He said insurance will cover part of the lost, but he has had to cancel
his planned trip to NM since that money will be needed for things insurance doesn't cover.
No idea when he will be back online with his BBS and all.

    Joe,

No idea when he will be back online with his BBS and all.

Finally back up, after getting power and air conditioning restored,
and the system upgraded to Windows 10 Pro 32-bit.

I had to CANCEL the trip to Albuquerque in September, because of costs associated with this "unwanted vacation", and because I have urinary
    bladder surgery on the horizon.

The apartment wouldn't allow radios or antennas. Back at my Mom's
place (I was deeded her house and car by Arkansas Asset Protection
Group, after putting her in a nursing home a year ago), but I still
operate "internet radio" only. I'm not about to put an antenna up on the

He sent me a couple of pictures and one was a house with a power meter
hanging off the wall by a cord and a second of power lines across a car in a JM>drive way.

The picture was the electric meter ripped off the north side of the

    across the street.

The insurance company won't pay for the $950 motel bill (9 days),
because they still considered the structure as "livable", since there
was running water, and no other damage. To them, it's a catastrophe if
they have to pay a claim. But, people die in places where the apparent temperature is above 100 degrees.

I did consider throwing in the towel...and now, I have urinary bladder

I had no access to a BBS during the downtime, and didn't want to bring
my laptop down to the hotel.

But after a 2 1/2 week downtime from the power outage, and then
installing Windows 10 Pro 32-bit, I'm finally back online. However, the summertime thunderstorms, and brownouts from hot temperatures, will mean downtime again. I couldn't afford a generator...especially with the
expenses from this "unwanted vacation", and now with urinary bladder
    surgery on the horizon.

I lucked out...we got more sleet than freezing rain. There was quite a
bit of freezing rain and power outages, just south and east of Little Rock.

The north side of my house is still snowed and iced in, as that area is getting very little sunlight. But, with temperatures in the 50s and 60s
the next few days, that should help melt things. We're not expecting any
rain or storms for at least a week...but our tornado season will be here
    soon enough.

Besides, when I'm gone, Joe has no one for comedy relief, and the echo
    gets awfully boring. <G>

We had long rains and falling temps on Thursday.
It turned to freezing rain and sleet that evening and overnight it
snowed. Mot much, about an inch, But under that snow was just ice.
But as the way wore on it warmed and except in shady areas that all
melted with the streets and sidewalks drying,
Ohio, just across the river, got it worse than we did with lots of local flooding.
