And if I ever forget the Alphabet backwards I'm in REAL TROUBLE.
In the Navy I was typing things like:
NOW IS THE TIME FOR ALL MEN TO COME TO THE AID OF THEIR COUNTRY.
THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPED OVER THE LAZY DOGS BACK.

    The standards...

I thought to type the Alphabet out and try to type it BACKWARDs.
After I got the first Z to A line finished, I could look at that line
to type it another time, then another time, etc.
I typed ZYXWVUTSRQPONMLKJIHGFEDCBA many many times. OVER AND OVER.

That certainly gets all the letters of the alphabet... :) We've done
the alphabet game on trips many times, finding each letter from A to Z
on signs and license plates and such... and then returning from Z to
A... Sometimes multiple times... it does help the car trip go a little faster... ;) When I was learning the manual alphabet, I'd use the sign
for each letter as I found it... so it was practice both for the hand
    and the mind.... :)

When I started trying to say the Alphabet backwards, I used to twitch.
My Left Little Finger moved when I said Z, the First Finger on My
Right Hand moved towards the left when I said Y, and so on.

I can certainly understand that... your brain had connected the two.. :)

I don't twitch any more when I say it to somebody, and I can say Z to
A in about 3.5 seconds on a good day.

    Pretty good.... :)

In the past 57 Years I have been beat THREE TIMES by Girls in the 8th Grade.
There is always Someone or Something that keeps Ed humble.

Can't have you getting a swelled head... you might not be able to put
your shirts on any more then... ;)

... I'm not completely stupid, some parts are missing.

Oh, back in those days when the kids weren't watching DVDs...

There's a scene in the movie "Tapeheads", an old '80s flick starring
Tim Robbins and John Cusack as two guys who stumble into a career
producing music videos. They're drinking in a bar and the bartender
says that they need to pass a sobriety test for him to serve them any
more. He asks them to recite the alphabet backwards, skipping the
vowels, and signing the letters in ASL while doing it.

    The actors do it.

I thought I'd never get served again if I had to do that!

True... DVDs weren't even invented back then.... nor TVs(/DVD players)
for the vehicles... :) To this day, I still will do the alphabets,
even if I'm driving alone in the car... :)

I could do it.... ;) at least as long as I can still sign the
vowels.... :) Having read your message, I tried it... no problem at
all... except for figuring out whether or not to say the Y and the W
(which are sometimes vowels).... <G> I often sign the alphabet as I do
the game in the car.... along with manual spelling out the words on
    signs, just for practice... :)

... Have you ever asked a question you weren't supposed to ask?

Of course.... :) Occasionally it even gets answered.... <G>
