    Howdy! Joe,

Well Sir, I done went and did it.

I just sent Daryl the photo my wife took of us back in April of 2017.

I also sent it to Mike Powell (SysOp of The Capitol City BBS) in case
You happened to stop in Franfort, Kentucky on Your way between Daryl and Me
(or is it between Me and Daryl?) to visit Mike.

Now they both know what the two of us look like.

Just thought I'd give You a warning about it - remember I had mentioned
    doing that.

You did tell them it wasn't the best photo of me? :)
The better ones are posted in finer post offices across the country.

You happened to stop in Franfort

It's right on the way home.

on Your way between Daryl and Me (or is it between Me and Daryl?) to
    visit Mike.

The order is Daryl, you then Mike.
I'll be coming up from LA into AR, then IN and east into KY and home.

Now they both know what the two of us look like.

We know who's the prettiest. :)

If you go to www.qrz.com and search for WX4QZ, you won't see the
mailing info if you're not logged on, but you can see a picture of me
from a year ago, in my Train Conductors Outfit at the Arkansas Railroad
    Museum in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Their annual Show and Sale is this weekend, but finances being tighter
than a frog's butt under water (any other analogies would be too racy
for this echo)...never mind thunderstorms in the forecast...I'm going to
skip it this year. Last year, I drove back in freezing rain, and was a
nervous wreck. I'm doing 50, and literally shaking, all tensed up.
People were passing me like the road was clear and dry.

I hope so. We're under an ENHANCED RISK of severe weather today, and
they've already got a tornado watch for northeast Texas.

    Joe,

I look forward to the visit...and especially to the eating. :)

Just remember, your the host, I'm just the guest who pays the tip. :)

Should I print up tip cards that note the following??

    1) Plant your corn early.
    2) Keep your powder dry.
    3) Always wear clean underwear.

One individual I know printed up on business cards a statement that
"he does not agree with charging a 20% tip fee BEFORE they even have the
food, let alone before service is rendered"...and adds "this was both my
first, and last trip, to this restaurant; and I will tell others to
    avoid this place".

I can understand his point. My late wife and I had a bad experience at
the Ryan's Buffet cafeteria in southwest Little Rock a few years before
she died. While she would "eat all her food first, then drink her
beverage to fill up the nooks and crannies", I'm "into heavy
drinking"...I've got to have food to wash it down with. During this one
visit, I could not get refills, and it was like the employees were
nowhere to be found...yet, the restaurant didn't look that busy. Several
times, I thought I'd choke on my food.

When I found the manager, I laid into him, and basically said what was
on that friends business card. He apologized, and my late wife and I got
a free meal on our next visit. It turned out to be our last one, because shortly after that, the chain announced it was closing its restaurants.

I have to say I seldom ever have bad experiences. I may have bad
experiences of one sort or another (usually slow service) but for about
99.9 per cent of the times the service is good.
My weekly kaffee klatsch are known to be big tippers. Once in a while someone will buy for everyone and the rest will leave a tip equal to what
their coffee, etc would be. We have waitresses fight over who will serve
    us. :)
Years ago I knew a fella who was well known to be close with a dollar.
    Even more than I am.
When everyone was leaving he would "remember" something he forgot, on purpose, and go back for it. It was found out he was pocketing the tips.
After that someone always went with him and soon he remembered
everything when he left the table. :)
On the rare occasions I have something delivered and order on line I
never put down anything for a tip but give the driver the cash. If a tip
is given on line its taxed, if just handed to them its not.

    Joe,

Well, since I'll not be there again and you will... :)

It has been rare that I had bad service at Golden Corral.

    I can imagine so.

When everyone was leaving he would "remember" something he forgot, on
purpose, and go back for it. It was found out he was pocketing the tips.
After that someone always went with him and soon he remembered
everything when he left the table. :)

He probably had no qualms about doing it.

never put down anything for a tip but give the driver the cash. If a tip JM>is given on line its taxed, if just handed to them its not.

Some restaurants have a "communal tip jar"...or all the tips go into
one big pool. This way, all employees get the same "tip amount", whether
they work to earn it, or "drag their butts".
