When I had to have all my teeth removed in late May, 2000, and got
dentures in September...the pain wasn't the worst part...it was the
bleeding. I think I only took one pain pill.

My dentist specialises in dentures (but does all the other work as
well). When I got mine I planned on working that day and told to take it
    off.
Afterward I was numb from the neck up (no cracks!) and sitting at home playing on the computer I glanced down and noticed I had been bleeding
and my tee shirt was soaked in blood. My first thought was I was glad I
hadn't gone to work that day.
I don't recall having any meds.
The dentures were done later that day and picked them up (one day
service) and have never had any problems with them. Had to get a new
upper once when the gums had shrunk and a bit wobbly and bit into
something. Later the new one had to be relined. But there was nothing
    wrong with the dentures themselves.

I'm not a big candy eater, but I love sweet rolls, cakes, pies,

That settles it. We'll go to Golden Corral for lunch when you come to visit. :)

    Sounds good to me!

    OMG.

These fit so well, that I haven't had to use one drop of Fixodent,
Poligrip, etc. One of the teeth seems to be chipping, and seems sharper
than smooth, but I can't afford to get it fixed right now. At least I
    can still eat.

    Sounds good to me!

Plus, since you're coming up from Louisiana, it'd be better that way.
Email me as the date gets closer, with your route, and I'll give
directions on how to get there.

I just hope I don't need a blind ham radio operator to direct me out
of the parking lot (I think I've told that story before). :P
