Joe,
Its referred to around here has Ohio Valley Crud. There are three
types: You've had it, you got it, and you're gonna get it. :)
OK, doc, does that mean I owe you $250?? How about I buy you lunch
when you come to visit?? <G>
I understand it's really "carbonated sassafras".
Pretty much.
And, let's not forget the root beer floats <DROOL!><SLOBBER!>.
Beets -- Never cared for them.
In small doses.
You can have mine.
Berries -- Never cared for them.
Love them.
You can have mine.
I'm not a big chocolate eater. I like chocolate ice cream but not
candy. I can take it leave it. Now sweets like pies, cakes, etc its JM>dangerous to be between me and those. :)
There is a local business that does these fresh baked pies. I prefer
buying the frozen ones, such as the Edwards brand. The strawberry cream
cheese pie isn't overly rich, and it satisfies my craving for something
sweet. Frostings and the other pies upset my digestive tract something
fierce. Yet, I remember growing up, that I'd buy a whole can of
frosting, and devour the frosting when I got home. Talk about a sugar
rush!!
I can handle about two cups (once in a while three) but after that it
starts tasting like liquid rubber. And no matter who makes it, what kind JM>it is, etc.
Folgers got it wrong. The best part of waking up is being able to go
back to sleep, after you had to get up in the night to pee. <G>
I can drink tea (unsweetened) all day and do.
Has to be sweetened for me. I remember all the big stink about how
Sweet and Low (pink package), plus a yellow package and blue package
(the name of both escapes me), were being complained about with
"cyclamates", etc. I thought a cyclamate was someone you rode with. <G>
Cranberries -- Only ate them on Thanksgiving
I like them with ham.
I resemble that remark. <G> H.A.M. stands for "Have Another Meal", and
you don't call us "Late For Dinner" <G>. In fact, I do a "Food Net" on
the mode of D-Star on Monday evenings. We were talking last night about
foods sticking to the pan. I remember using PAM spray, but there is some
other stuff (with flour, I think) that you can use. However, I've slept
since then. :P
I told my late wife that "Ever notice at certain times of day, people
get the idea that it's time to eat??". Indeed, when we'd go out to eat,
we weren't at a restaurant for 5 minutes, and here came a crowd. We
swore we were being followed!!
Broccoli? Yes, more please. Freshly steamed, a touch of butter and a
dash of salt.
You can have my portion. Janice tricked me into eating some once...she resignedly admitted "it was a lost cause".
Nuts --
All kinds.
We have enough of them in the world...present company EXCLUDED. <G>
Oranges
Yep.
I rarely drink orange juice, as the citric acid gives me canker sores.
I do like Fanta Orange soda, though.
Rhubarb -- Never cared for it.
Never had any that I can recall.
Rhubarb is when the baseball players storm out of the dugout for a
fight. Or in the case of the movie of the same name (named for this
cat), it's where the women are fighting over hosiery, etc. in the
basement. I think of ventriloquist Todd Oliver and his Boston Terrier,
Irving. The dog said "A lady came in wanting some hose" (meaning panty
hose). Todd asked "What did you tell her??". Irving replied "Gardening.
Aisle 12". <G>
I rarely drink it at home. A 12 pack will last me months. One time
about a year and a half.
I was surprised to see the flavored water in 12 packs...but I've only
seen it at Wal-Mart. Kroger doesn't have that...at least not yet.
I enjoy it when eating out with a burger or something.
Same here...but I do like cheese on the burger.
I will on occasion have those that are roasted. Maybe once every few
years.
As noted, not a soy fan.
When I'm warming a chair, uh, toiling mightily, on weekends I take a
thermos of hot tea, year round. At home its usually iced tea except on JM>winter days I'll make a pot. Tea is good hot or cold.
As the moderator, you have that right. <G> I prefer it cold...I was
never a fan for hot beverages.
Tofu
Yech.
Sounds like a strange deal for a foot extremity. :P
Same here. About the only time is if its provided. I've never been
one to jump out of bed and devour a big meal. Its usually several hours JM>before I'm hungry.
I was that way when I worked. I wanted a snack about mid-morning...but
back then, as now, lunch is my main meal.
