I have had it over 5 years now, so it is more durable
than I would have assumed when I got it.

I mainly replaced my phones when the cameras became better.
When I started taking pictures of violators it was with a Polaroid
digital camera that I downloaded at home and e-mailed to the office. That was a poor camera, the photos came out like a Monet painting.
I got a cell phone for two reasons: cheaper in the long run over the
landline and instead of carrying a bulky camera I could use the phone.
That was still download at home and mail to the office.
Then when data became available I replaced it, then on up the line to
    wifi.
I started with a Motorola flip phone and on through other androids to my current iPhone, which has a great camera. And at $150 it was the most expensive phone I had brought, all the others were the $50 range.

The camera is the only feature I use with regularity that I would likely
lose if I ever downgrade. That said, when I want to be sure to get the
best pictures, I usually have my old Fuji FinePix digital with me, too. I
have found that it still takes better pictures than my 5 y/o Android or
even the newer iphone that they issued me at work. The digital zoom just
is not as good as having an actual zoom lens.
