Very wise... :) It also keeps you in touch with your support
systems... a very good thing at this point... :)

I've gotten a lot of support from the folks in ham radio, square
dancing, and in the message areas on the BBS...mainly from other
networks. I don't have many local callers though, but the BBS is part
of my diversional therapy. Another BBS in the area is having a picnic
at an area park in early September...and I plan on going.

    Good idea. :)

That is indeed a comfort... and a nice providence for you... :)

I know I'll be "recompensed at the resurrection of the just", but
that's the least of my worries right now. 2 1/2 years ago, I cancelled
a trip to Orlando for a ham radio event, as my Mom was having a
pacemaker put in, and I felt it better to stay home with her. I have to
go to Heart Clinic Arkansas on Monday, and get a "return kit" to send
the measuring device back to the manufacturer...at least it's prepaid
    on shipping.

Good that they make it fairly easy to return it... one more detail to
    deal with, though...

Hopefully that will be soon.... and better already... :)

While the cold weather makes my arthritis hurt more, it means no
insects, no heat illness, and no tornadoes.

    Tradeoffs... ;)

I dropped it off on the way to the funeral home.

I've come close to heatstroke several times, been stung by insects on
the lip and elsewhere, and been under 2 funnel clouds, plus within a
mile of 2 rain wrapped tornadoes. I'm wanting some calmer weather,
    especially with milder temperatures.

I haven't heard. I unfriended all my Facebook friends (over 500...some

It's rare I'm up before 9am...unless it's for medical reasons, or

Yeah... a couple times a night sometimes for me... Sundays I have to be
up before 9, if I'm playing for the morning service, even earlier (to be
out of the house by about 8) so that I can practice first... otherwise,
I don't make appointments for early, and neither of us gets up much

My days in the choir, etc. are long gone. After a friend I had helped
had apparently spread lies about me (they found her dead in her kitchen
2 years ago, from a suicide or heart attack), the local churches "showed
me the door", and I haven't been back since. Christians are the only
army that "buries their wounded". :( I'm "old fashioned" for church
things, and so much else. So many now are more like entertainment shows,
    rather than worship services.

Hmm, where is Lt Colombo when you need him???
I've been watching Mrs Colombo (YouTube) lately and not a bad show.
Colombo is merely mentioned and never seen. His wife works for a small weekly neighbourhood paper and solves crimes.

So many now are more like entertainment shows, rather than worship services.

    Depends on the church.

Ah, yes...Peter Falk as Colombo, and Dennis Weaver as McCloud. I think
both were on NBC, and both are dead and gone now.

True. But, I've got so many health issues, and don't sleep well at

    Nancy,

Ah... hope that went well... did you ask him why the picnic was NB>cancelled...? :)

Well, he originally thought he'd have to work. At the last minute, the
day before, a co-worker called, saying "I need some hours". Well, he got
the day off after all, but it was too late to reschedule the picnic.

An old laptop computer I had bought nearly 10 years ago (it had
Windows Vista Basic on it) was able to get Windows 7 on it, but the
install of Windows 10 crashed 85% into it. So, I'm giving him the laptop
to wipe the drive, along with a power supply, a USB mouse, and a mouse
pad, for free. He said he may put Linux on it.

That's a shame.... I looked in our denomination's directory to see if we NB>had any churches in your area, but we don't... otherwise I'd suggest you NB>try that...

I truly miss it...but my health got so, that were I was "a back row
[insert denomination here]. That was because, many times, I had to bid a
hasty retreat to the bathroom, as "nature tends to call at the most
inopportune time"...especially as one gets older. Urgency and
    incontinence are no fun.

... If I made myself clear, let me know and I'll start over.

If you had made yourself perfectly clear, we'd know you weren't a
crook (darn, got Nixon on the brain :P ).
