• Command line Menu program

From Charles Pierson@1:106/127 to All on Wed Jan 27 15:50:34 2021
I'm using Termux on my phone to work like a Linux machine with Ubuntu i stalled. It's running from tge command line of course.

So I'm looking for something similar to the Old Automenu orogram I used to
used with DOS. a progra, I ccan run with a list of my installed programs
which I can launch from there instead of remembering a bunch of directoru changes and the like.

    Any advice?

I'm not sure what Automenu does. But maybe Midnight Commander (command: mc) will do the trick for you. You can program it's menu to do anything you want on the command line.

    Bye, Wilfred.

Automenu basically was a program you coukd run that you set up with whichever programs you wanted, and would do small batch programs to launch your selection then returned to the menu when you exited.

I'm playing with Midnight Commander now, it reminds me of Norton Commander I used in DOS. It might work, but it's a little more complicated than what I
    was looking for.

It was almost like a front-end BBS menu. Was in ANSI and you could easily customize the colors, but that was about it. Midnight Commander is more like
    a DOS file browser.

    Nice Description.

I saw something about a program called pdmenu that sounds similar to what I'm looking for. I'm going to check out.

There's an app in F-Droid called Script Manager. Probably in Play Store too. Does that look like it would do it?

I'm actually doing this inside of Termux. I'm operating the Termux sessions
as a computer of it's own.

This BBS is running in it.

pdmenu looks like it will accomplish what I'm looking for.

I remember it well. It was installed for me by the person who my dad asked to setup my first DOS computer. I had computers before it, but that was the turning point for me, and automenu was the first thing I ever "customized" on
    a computer.
