    Hey Alexey!

    kernel-image-rz-5.8.8-zt1.x86_64.rpm kernel-headers-rz-5.8.8-zt1.x86_64.rpm kernel-modules-rz-5.8.8-zt1.x86_64.rpm

    -={ '<Esc>:r !cat /proc/version' starts }=-
Linux version 5.8.8 (root@bitskii) (gcc (GCC) 10.2.0, GNU ld (GNU Binutils) 2.35) #1 SMP Thu Sep 10 01:22:15 UTC 2020
    -={ '<Esc>:r !cat /proc/version' ends }=-

However it still is having troubles with the i915drmfb frame buffer device wrt Intel UHD Graphics 630 and mplayer using fbdev2 as the output device. It works perfect with pre 5.8.x kernel versions. I haven't tried it with anything else since this is the only machine I ever do multimedia stuff on at the moment. My best guess is that the kernel's framebuffer drivers still need work.

    Life is good,
    Maurice

    Good ${greeting_time}, Maurice!

10 Sep 2020 11:06:40, you wrote to me:

That could work for a single machine, annoys when you have 10, and appears almost impossible when you have over a hundred.

    Possibly you've misconfigured it...

    % dmesg | grep i915
    [ 2.171089] i915 0000:00:02.0: vgaarb: deactivate vga console
    [ 2.173576] i915 0000:00:02.0: vgaarb: changed VGA decodes: olddecodes=io+mem,decodes=none:owns=io+mem
    [ 2.205643] [drm] Initialized i915 1.6.0 20200515 for 0000:00:02.0 on minor 0
    [ 2.481708] fbcon: i915drmfb (fb0) is primary device
    [ 3.072236] i915 0000:00:02.0: fb0: i915drmfb frame buffer device

    Everything works just fine here.

    Hallo Alexey!

That could work for a single machine,

It works but not with mplayer ... yet.

    annoys when you have 10,

Three at the moment but will have four going once I figure if it is just the one (skylake) that has the framebuffer issue.

and appears almost impossible when you have over a hundred.

Not enough plugins for that many.

    Possibly you've misconfigured it...

I don't think so. I'll see later when I bring the fourth one back online. It has a AST2400 graphics chipset which has worked flawlessly since forever.

    Het leven is goed,
    Maurice
