Never liked Huawei phones. and no google apps, guesss the chinese tracking apps are ok

so what phone do you have ?

i still have my nokia e51 with a faulty powerbuttom :) (reminds me of
    zx
    -spectrum keyboard)

    Regards Benny

Glad to see another Symbian user. I have the Nokia E63. Have no interest
    in
    the newer phones.

Haha, fun the subject pops up.

I have a Nokia 150DS, which is an old-school, dumphone Nokia.... made
in 2016. It runs Symbian too.

I have a Nokia 3.1 (Smartphone) for business, but my daily beater is
    the dumbphone.

I feel like a grandpa inside.

I have had mine since 2009, only had to change the battery. I would not be as averse to getting a new one, if it were for my lack of trust in the software. I don't like the idea of buying a product which spies and tracks me, or one that locks me out from being able to modify it. Also, the modern way in which software is handled is hatable. Apps, appstores and walled gardens. Yuk.

My next phone may be a Linux phone, a free and open system. More than willing to sacrifice some functionality for a phone which I can mould and bend to my will.

i have had python s60 on it, it was a python script to show opengl graphics in realtime with it, very nice, in teori it could do fidonet in python if one coded it

just limited to very small screen

Linux phones sound interesting, I've seen a couple of good reviews,
and I've been watching the PinePhone with some interest. Been tempted
to get a Pinebook as well.

This is the phone I want!

with raspberry pi one can build a complete phone without google problems

hardware to make this already exists
