I was testing sending myself an email based on the info here: https://kb.iu.edu/d/aavj
but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a new way to send email to our
netmail addresses? Or is that feature gone?

Yeah, pretty much. You can try replacing fidonet.org with binkp.net (e.g. f705.n103.z1.binkp.net), but that's only going to work if that FidoNet node also happens to be running an SMTP server (on TCP port 25).

Try .fidonet.fi instead of .fidonet.org. Works for text messages, html crap will be rejected.
