Does anyone have recommendations for an easy to install and use ftp
client for windows?
I wonder if windows still has the CLI ftp client and if that would work?

The CMD ftp.exe is still there in Win10.
As others already mentioned WinSCP and FileZilla, I would like to add that some advanced file managers like e.g. DirectoryOpus also include FTP clients.
Here, it should also be possible to create scripts for automation :)

Filezilla seems to be the defacto standard.

Thanks, I'll pass that along.
I've been using FileZilla for as long as I can remember. I use
it for many different places. Only your site has a problem when
the PASV step is reached. :(
1) I could put the BBS on a VPS somewhere.
2) I may get a new, better behaved router.
It is likely that one of those will happen at some point
but not in the foreseeable future.
What is your 1st choice dream router?
What is your 1st choice dream router? Maybe I could help pitch
in for your 3rd choice! Hehehehheh.
At least 4 different people have sent me hardware and software
packages over the years at no cost. I'd be happy to pitch in if
that could help you get the hardware that would work.

My FTP site runs on my own computer behind my router and that is all I have.
