Any interest in having a reader/point software as well that would run on Andriod/IPHone?

Of course, though there are already 2 products doing exactly that.

That is true but I got time on my hands. So I know of AfterShock. What is the other one?

Hotdoged ... don't know if there's a support echo for it.

But anyway, If you want to write one yourself then go ahead and have fun..

I thought HotDogEd was only a editor used with AfterShock? Will have to revisit again.

    Hello Dale,

I thought HotDogEd was only a editor used with AfterShock? Will have
    to revisit again.

It is an editor. You'll need a provider package also, either the fidonet or NNTP provider.

I use aftershock myself because it is easier to setup. It's not used much because it is on my phone and while it's easy to read replying isn't so easy because of the small screen.

A wonderfull app for a tablet I'm sure but I don't have one of those.

I'm not sure but I don't think either of those is available for the IPad. I don't have an IPhone or IPad either but folks who do could use one of those. :)

    Ttyl :-),

It is a complete fido/nntp reader. And it is free if you get it direct from the author, not from Google. :)

And there is a support echo, HOTDOGED.

Nope, they're both stand-alone systems but I do not know HotDogEd. I have Aftershock on my tablet and I know there are fans for both products. It excellently serves my needs as a point while on the road, with the limitations.

Personally I see a future with no PCs anymore, just handhelds, even for Fido. So please feel encouraged to work on such a product yourself and keep providing support if that is what you intend to do.

Does Aftershock handle threading? I just had an issue with a user logging into my NNTP server and to test, I installed NewsTapLite on my Iphone to test and was quite impressed with downloading and reading Fidonet echos.

I will try Aftershock when I get an android tablet.
